“Do you think I will go against my people?” I ask my so-called mate as she shivers against me. She seems confused by my words, but she shouldn’t be surprised.
I’ve heard about this prophecy before. Mom’s hobby is reading predictions, and she talks about them often. Mom has found many warning signs about the doom of the elves. One is about a woman mated to every known sentient being out there. It has piqued my mother’s interest more than once. I’m tired of hearing about it.
I don’t believe it either, but if I am wrong and Celeste is the woman she claims to be, I don’t want to be involved. I’ll gladly admit that there are many faulty things about elves, but I cannot stand behind a g******e targeted toward my race! She must be crazy!
