Mother Grey shows both of us to the slave quarters when it’s clear that Celeste will go with us to Mother Chandra. There, she finds slave grays for Celeste. The girl frowns at the clothing and back at Mother Grey. Her disdain is barely hidden, and once again, I wonder what’s wrong with her. She is not behaving like I expected. Mother Grey cannot conceal she also suspects something is wrong. I don’t think Celeste notices, though, as she spends more time dressing into the slave grays than observing me and Mother Grey.
