But Cliff found her annoying and would come up with all sorts of excuses to avoid her.
She knew it, yet she still foolishly kept trying to get close to him.
Vanya vividly remembered that in her previous life, the first year of her marriage to Cliff was today.
She had really wanted Cliff to celebrate her birthday with her, but he made excuses to get out of it.
The following year, when Melinda was studying abroad, she happened to find out that just because Melinda casually mentioned she wanted Cliff to celebrate her birthday, he dropped everything and flew out to be with Melinda.
It was then that she realized all the "busyness" was just an excuse.
