Elizabeth emerged from the room and sat down next to Tyler.
She held out her hand for him to see the neat stitches.
“All done. And painless, thanks to the miracle of whatever the hell they used to numb it first. Nothing scary about it - and the guy even let me call Sawyer while I waited for the stuff to kick in.”
“You told him?”
“I didn’t have time. He’ll be here in three hours, we can tell him everything then. He doesn’t even know that Elle is injured.”
“And they checked you’re OK other than the hand?”
“I didn’t ask them to. I’ve been through this before, I know I will be fine.”

“It wasn’t this bad last time, but yes.”
