Like It or Not

Is he nuts? f**k. What could be worst than having a crazy stalker? To think I thought he was hot back in the lift. Damnit!            Faust took off his glasses and stared at her with amusement in his eyes.                    Hot damn! Those eyes...             She shook her head. No. Don’t look at his sinfully gorgeous eyes.             “Your jumping to conclusions looked cute. Really. But that’s not what I have in mind, at all. Though I have to say it is actually not a bad idea. I won’t deny it, Miss Roman, I do find you attractive. Just look at how hard I am already.” He opened his arms wide as if inviting her. Her eyes seemed to grow a mind of its own for it wandered off to his crotch and oh boy was he big!              Another hearty laugh made her strip her eyes away from his obvious erection. f**k why did you look?! Her face burned to the tips of her ears.             “Having a change of heart already?”            “Of course not! Look if that’s not what you mean then what do you want from me?” She tried to make her voice sound as serious as possible. Damn this man for playing with her.              “Ah right. Looks like you are ready to talk about business.”             “Just freaking say it.” She still felt uncomfortable with him inside. She had no choice but to get this over and done with.              “Well, I want you to be my personal driver.”             “What? You got the old guy! What do you need me for?”             “Well that “old guy” Damian, is retiring soon. And that’s not exactly what I mean by ’driver’.”             “Then go get someone else! Sorry. I’m not interested. I already have a job.” She dismissed him. She’s not a bit interested. This guy spells trouble and she had enough of that on her plate already.              “A job that you hate? From what I witnessed with your little show earlier, I could tell you’re not happy working there.”             She glared at him. “It’s none of your business whether I like my job or not. Besides how can you trust me with your car and your life. You may know my name but you don’t know me. You don’t even know if I can drive.”             “Actually I do. You won the race last night and I should say I’m impressed.”                   “H-how...”              “Why is it a secret? Well, you shouldn’t be driving the car you used last night if you don’t want to be caught.” Again with that smart-ass remark followed by that smirk!            Ugh! How can I be so dumb! She didn’t think anyone would care to follow her after of that damn race. She looked at this man again and tried to size him up. Hmmm everything about him screamed money. Nah he couldn’t be a racer. A sponsor maybe? Could be. She saw how thick that roll of money she won last night.  It’s not surprising to know rich people bet on the game. Though she didn’t count how much it’s worth exactly, she knew it was more than what Joshua owned the mafia.               Mafia... oh f**k! Her eyes bulged as she realized it. This... this guy...            “Oh, finally you caught up! I was starting to think you’re not as bright as you look, it would be a waste. I like my woman brainy.” He grinned. He was clearly messing with her! The nerve of this guy!             “So what?! I already paid for my brother’s debts. In full. I don’t owe you anything neither am I interested in your proposal.”             “You must be confused. You see, Sierra I’m not asking you. Like it or not, you will do as I want you to do.”             “And if I don’t?” She challenged him. Damn this egotistical bastard! She can’t force me! Then her phone rang again. She let it ring and held her gaze to him determined to not let him see an inch of fear from her.            He leaned back to his seat as he stares back at her. Her phone went on ringing.             “It’s best to answer that. It could be an emergency.” He was so cool that she felt something was wrong.             She picked up her phone and checked the screen. It’s Lailane. She must be checking on her since she hasn’t come home yet.            “Hey, babes.”            “S-Sierra... help...” Sierra heard her low voice on the other end before the line went silent.             “L-lane... Lane! What’s wrong? Where are you? Lane!” Her heart was thumping fast and hard. No, no, no! Not them too!             She heard her groan in the background.            “What the f**k did you do to my best friend?!             “Oh, I thought you were talking to your boyfriend, or are you...” he had the guts to tease her at this moment?!             “I’m not playing with you! Let her go! I don’t know why you have to do this. If something happens to her I swear...”            “Ah-ah,” he moved so fast and leaned towards her stopping her words by putting the tip of his finger over her lips. “Don’t speak so fast, love. In case you hadn’t notice, you’re not in the position to threaten me.” Then he smiled at her. She felt flickers of electricity as his eyes followed his finger tracing her lip line. She turned her head to the side to stop him from what he was doing to her.            What is he doing to me? Now’s not the time to think about it. Lailane could be in danger.            “She’s fine. Connor must have put her to sleep by now.            “Connor? She’s getting married! Whatever you guys are planning to her please don’t. Don’t drag her into this!” She couldn’t hide her desperation. She won’t be able to forgive herself if something happens to her best friend.            “Oh don’t worry. Connor won’t do anything to her. He’s not that ‘kind’ of guy. Well as far as I know. But I can’t say the same about Joshua.”             “What do you want from me really?”            “I already told you. I want you to be my driver of better yet I want you to race for me.”             “Race for you?! Why me? I’m not a racer. It was just pure luck that I won last night.”            “That isn’t luck Sierra, that’s skills.”            “Dude, I’m telling you I never raced before except last night. I’m not a racer. Besides I’m a woman!”            “Faust.”            “What?”            “My name is Faust. Don’t call me dude, Sierra. I’m going to be your boss.”             “Faust, whatever. Didn’t you hear me? I’m not what you’re looking for. And I’m not looking for another boss.” She thought about Libby for a moment. Oh yes, she is but not this guy! It’s like jumping from a boiling pot straight to the frying pan!            “What’s wrong with being a woman and a racer?”            “I mean why don’t you just get some bad-ass male racer to race for you? I’m sure they would love to work for you.”             “Oh yes, you’re right. But it’s you I want. In case you forget, and I’m not going to repeat myself again, this isn’t an offer. It’s a proposal that you don’t have a choice but to accept. In any case, I would consider making adjustments for your demands but that’s about it.” Faust’s voice went low and cold, his eyes deep and dangerous. Gone was the cool guy he seemed to be just moments ago.            Sierra bit her tongue. She heard his threat loud and clear and with the way he looks she knew he was serious.             She held her silence for a moment before she felt the car stop. She was surprised to see they were in front of her apartment.             He even knew where I live!             Her blood boiled but her hands felt cold.             “If it makes any difference, you are going to be well compensated. I will cover your brother’s operation and you can take home fifty percent of your winnings. I could also provide you with your own apartment. I’ll give you two days to think about it. I know you’ll make the right choice.”           She snickered at his words. Choice? He was threatening her with her family’s lives. He didn’t give her any choice!           Sierra went out of the car as soon as the door opened. She saw a tall nerdy looking man standing by it. He didn’t come with us to the car. Is this Connor?            Lailane. She ran inside her apartment and locked her doors before she ran to Lailane’s room.            “Lailane!” She called as she opened her door. She sighed in relief when she saw her curled up on her bed.             It was only them that she felt her knees wobbled. She sat at the edge of her bed and rest her head on top of her hands then ran it through her hair. She let out a heavy sigh.             f**k! What have I gotten myself into?
