"Goodness, gracious, you're amazing. According to you, I'm a lucky lady." -Jessie Reyez, Shutter Island
They had to completely redo their room, redo it, and perform two cleaning spells before they felt semi better.
They had completely redone the room and now it was darker than the light airy bohemian theme they had earlier. The whites were now red, and there seemed to be more black. When they were done both agreed to put up protection wards in their rooms and made sure no one else could just pop by and kill a familiar in their beds.
When they finally could get into their sweats and tanks, they were joined by Silas and Christopher. Both mates were given permission to stay with their shaken girls and so they were hanging with them tonight.
When they laid down in bed, Sophia closed the thick black curtains on her canopy bed closing her and Silas in the dark beside the firefly lights strung around the top of her canopy rails on her bed.
Silas slid his fingers through Sophia's hair as he looked into her eyes, "You okay baby?" Sophia pulled her joint from her bra and lit it with a snap of her fingers, "No. I...I can't believe your father is this determined for something so trivial. And he used your little brother to do it no less! I find it cowardly."
Samuel sighed as she blew the smoke in his face, "It is. He's always been that way." Sophia passed her joint and then stroked her mate's face, "I know he was cruel to you, but are you sure this can't be worked out?"
Silas shook his head and whispered, "No. Other than putting me through the worse torture imaginable, Samuel has failed in every way of being a father. He wanted me to mate with someone knowing it would hurt you. After everything Samuel has taken from me, I couldn't let him take you too."
Sophia sighed and leaned into his neck, "What about your mother? Won't you feel bad? Once he dies, she'll soon die after if she doesn't have anything else."
Silas scoffed bitterly, "Hayley doesn't even love us. I doubt she loves that prick."
Sophia bit her bottom lip, "What did he do to you Silas?"
Silas looked at his mate and shook his head slowly, "You've had enough trauma for the day. We'll talk about this later." They had then spent the rest of the night balled up in each other's arms. When she had woken up later, she made a mirror portal, connecting the one in his living room to the one in their room.
She kissed Silas goodbye and then watched him go home wishing he could stay.
School seemed to be the least of her problems with her mates challenging his father approaching the horizon. When lunch rolled around, she waved Topaz and Charles off when they came to ask her if she wanted to eat with them. But, Sophia kind of wanted to be left alone.
But of course, the moment she sat down in the courtyard listening to a siren from her white headphones, she felt a familiar presence sit across from her at the stone table.
Looking up to see Ezra, Sophia sighed, "Can I help you?" Ezra winced at her dry tone and sighed, "I'm sorry, I just wanted to make sure you were alright." Sophia bitchly replied with, "Peachy." Ezra frowned and Sophia sighed rubbing her forehead, "Sorry, that was bitchy." Ezra nodded, "It's cool, I kind of deserve it. You doing okay though Soph?"
Sophia shrugged, "As good as I can be in this situation." Ezra seemed to be biting his tongue making Sophia warily ask, "What?" Ezra quickly shook his head but Sophia didn't have time for it, "Speak." She ordered making his words fly out of his mouth.
"Do you regret choosing him now that you see all the trouble you're going through?" Sophia shook her head, "No."
Ezra's jaw clenched and he wanted to get angry. He knew it wasn't his place to say such things, to question the bond between Sophia and her mutt. But he didn't like seeing it. Hearing about it.
Every girl in school had gushed about how hot Silas was and how sweet he had been checking on Sophia. But she wouldn't have been in danger if not for him.
How could Sophia want someone who would put her life at risk? "Sophia..." he muttered nervously. "I'm just, I don't think he's right for you," Silas told her without holding back. Sophia glared at Ezra annoyed as she lit a joint irritated, "Good thing I don't take dating advice from you."
Ezra huffed pissed now, "Come on Sophia! You do realize in his eyes, you're nothing but property? He owns you and he'll use you for your power. You'll never be his equal." A bolt of lightning struck in the sky making Ezra jump as Sophia's brown eyes narrowed on him dangerously.
"Never, speak of my mate that way." She warned, the smoke trailing from her mouth dangerously.
Ezra shot up grabbing his bag, "You do realize what's happening right! You're getting sucked into his world, his pack, his life! You're going to spend your last year, your GEMINI YEAR stressed out and worried about s**t going on there! We could have been something special if you had just given me a shot! But I guess it's f**k how I feel right?"
He then stormed off making Sophia roll her eyes.
She had never thought Ezra a narssasict. But he had made the entire situation, about him and his feelings. Sophia had told him she was sorry she didn't feel the same, but he seemed determined to throw shots at her mate like he knew him.
Not to mention try to steal her away when her entire heart belonged to Silas.
Sophia wouldn't put on the hat and make herself the bag guy, she didn't do anything wrong.
Sighing she chose to ignore Ezra's sleezy, shady behavior and tried to be ready for what's next.
