Madison
I woke up to the feeling of Grant nuzzling my neck with his nose and the sound of my light music going off on my phone. I took a deep breath and opened my eyes with a smile on my face. I reached over and turned my alarm off and settled back into Grant's arms.
He kissed the side of my face and I hummed. I turned to look at him and he kissed my lips tenderly. As I moved in bed, I felt his thick erection and wondered if we had time for some morning fun. Grant kissed my lips one more time before moving his erection away from me. He knew what I was thinking.
“Morning Mads,” he said in a deep morning voice.
I had never heard that before and it was sexy as hell. I was happy I would get to listen to that every day.
“Morning,” I said back.
“How did you sleep?”
“The best.”
“Good,” he said with a soft smile.
He sat up in bed then started to move. That was my cue that it was time to start the day. Which in reality was probably for the best. I needed to eat and get to school here. Not to mention I was a little sore from last night.
We both got dressed and I admired that he wore blue jeans and a t-shirt to go to work in. Alpha Cameron and Alpha Eric both wore polos to work and sometimes blue jeans or dress pants. I have no idea about the other Alphas though. I wonder if he will always dress like this or if it will change?
When we were dressed, we went to the kitchen. Grant started breakfast while I got plates and forks out. I learned how to make the coffee in the coffee pot we had and got his ready along with a little for me. Once I was done, I sat on the counter sipping on my coffee next to where he was working on breakfast and watched him.
“How are you this morning? Are you sore at all?” Grant asked before he pecked my lips.
“A little, but it’s not bad,” I answered.
He nodded his head and finished our eggs, toast and sausage. We sat at the table and ate together while talking.
“What do you have to do today?” I asked him.
“I have online classes I need to get to, Alpha duties and checking on construction sights for Eric and myself.”
“Sounds like a full day.”
“It will be. After school today, do you want to train?”
“That would be good,” I said before taking a bite of my sausage.
He nodded his head and we finished eating, then quickly cleaned up before heading to the pack school on the other side of the packhouse. I had my backpack on and felt like all of this was odd. I was the Luna of my new pack with a mate that was out of school yet I was still in school and would be the only one my age.
We walked into the building and went to the office. The secretary behind the desk was young and pretty with no claiming mark on her neck. She smiled at us as we stepped up to her.
“What can I help you with, Alpha Grant?” she asked politely.
“Luna Madison needs a class schedule to finish her senior year. She’s transferring from Hunter’s Moon,” Grant told her with a stoic look on his face.
She stood up with a smile and looked at me while saying, “welcome to Red Stone school Luna Madison. Do you have your old schedule with you?”
“Yes,” I told her as I dug through my backpack to get it.
Once I had it, I handed it to her and she looked it over. She sat back down and got to work on her computer while Grant and I stood there waiting. When she was done, she printed a paper out and grabbed it from the machine behind her. She walked over and handed it to me.
“Here is your schedule and I can walk you to your first class, Luna Madison,” she told me with a sweet smile.
“Thank you.”
“Of course,” she told me as she walked to the door.
I turned to Grant and said, “I'll see you after school.”
“I’ll be waiting outside the building for you.”
I smiled at him and he leaned down to kiss my lips before he turned and left the building. I turned to the secretary and followed her out of the office into the main portion of the building. While we walked the halls, I noticed how quiet it was.
“How many students does the school have?” I asked.
“You are our twenty-first student and you’re the only high schooler we have.”
“I had a feeling I would be.”
“It will be ok. Classes will be a breeze for you, I’m sure,” she said as she led me to a room.
I looked inside and found the teacher in the class sitting at her desk.
“Mrs. Jing,” the secretary called out to get the teacher's attention.
She looked up from what she was reading and smiled at us. She stood up and walked toward us. I could tell that she was older and had a claiming mark. She was Asian but I wonder if she was from that area or here in the US.
“I would like to introduce you to Luna Madison. She’s finishing her senior year with us.”
“Oh! Lovely. Now I won't be bored,” Mrs. Jing said with a smile.
I smiled back at her and lightly laughed. She was sweet and had a thick Chinese accent. I remember Grant saying he had a teacher from China and this had to be her.
“I will leave the two of you to have a great day,” the secretary said, and she walked off.
I put my hand out to shake Mrs. Jing’s hand and she took it happily.
“Go ahead and have a seat. Can I see your schedule?” she asked.
I handed her my schedule and sat at a desk in the front of the room. The bell rang in the quiet building and I honestly felt a little lonely. Sure, I didn’t have close friends back at Hunter’s Moon that I was attached to, but this was odd.
Mrs. Jing handed me my schedule back and said, “ok. Since I’m the only high school teacher and you're the only student I have, we'll be stuck in this room together each day for hours. If you want to leave your things here, you can unless you have work to finish outside of class.”
Scratch that former thought. I liked this. I looked at my schedule and saw that I had all of my main classes with her, then I had PE with someone else, Spanish with someone else and Art.
My main classes flew by and Mrs. Jing was a great teacher. I was able to ask questions and understand what was going on. It was like having a private tutor.
At lunch, I went to the cafeteria with her and she sat with the other six teachers the school had while I met and sat with the younger pups of the pack. Most of the pups ranged from third grade down to first, so I was a lot older than them.
“You’re our Luna?” one of the pups asked as I took a bite of my sandwich.
“Yep. You can just call me Madison,” I told them.
They all smiled at me and I started to learn their names. They were all adorable and I could feel this sense to protect each of them and help them when they needed it.
When we had finished lunch, I walked with them outside and watched as they started playing on the brand new playground. I sat on the steps of the building that led to the area and watched them for a while. That is until one of the boys came running up to me and slapped my arm.
I looked at him in shock and he ran away while screaming, “tag, you're it!”
Crap…I guess I’ll play with them. I took off running after them and caught one of the pups, then turned around and ran off. I saw some pups behind a tree and they waved me over. I ran up and hid with them while sitting on the ground so I was closer to their height.
“Good catch, Madison,” one of the little boys named Ash told me.
“Thanks. She was easy to get because she was out in the open,” I told him.
I played with them until it was time to go inside. I went to my last class with Mrs. Jing before I had to go to PE. I walked into the gym and saw that all the students were here for PE with me. At least I wasn’t alone and I would get to play with them again. It was honestly fun and I enjoyed it.
After PE, I went to Spanish class and found the third graders there with me. We were all learning the same thing, but I would get graduation credits for this class and they wouldn't. Spanish was the last class of the day. When the bell rang, we all walked out to the hallway and all the pups walked with me to the front door. We stepped out of the school and I saw parents out front along with Grant. He smiled at me and watched me with the pups of the pack as I said bye to them and their parents. I looked around me to see only a few pups left here at the front of the school.
“Are you ready to go?” Grant asked as he walked up to me.
“I want to make sure everyone gets home,” I told him.
He nodded his head and we watched as a few more parents showed up to collect their pups. There was only one left now. I saw that Ash was sitting on the steps looking around for his parents.
“Ash, when will your parents be here?” I asked him.
“When dad is done with patrol or mom is done at the bakery,” he told me.
I looked at Grant and he said, “that won't be for a few hours.”
That won't do. I know the pack is new and we don’t have a lot of things yet, but we need stuff for the pups already, or someone for them.
“Can you mind-link them and tell them that he will be with us until they are done?” I asked Grant.
“Yeah,” he said and his gray eyes went dull as he contacted Ash’s parents.
“Come on, we will go get a snack, then you can watch us train on the field,” I told Ash as I held my hand out to him.
“Awesome!” he said happily as he got up from the front steps.
The three of us walked to the house to get a snack for Ash. Grant and I changed into athletic clothes, then we went out to the training field behind the barracks. Ash sat in the shade while doing homework, eating his snack and watching us train.
Grant assessed where I was at in training and wasn’t prepared for me to punch him in the sensitive part of his stomach or move out of his reach each time he got close. As we trained and I tripped him, I heard laughter from close by. We stopped and looked over close to Ash. Otto was sitting there with two other guys. I think it was Aksel and Krew he was sitting with.
“We’ve been waiting for someone to trip his ass. He’s always beating us up,” Otto told me, and I smiled.
Grant hummed and I looked at him. He didn’t seem impressed with them. I wanted to laugh so badly but I’m not sure how Grant would take that.
He looked at me and said, “You’re fast, I’ll give you that. I think you should train with the others too.”
“Ok.”
“You also need to pick your own Gamma out.”
“Ok. I'll start with the other Betas in the pack. That's Aksel and Nikolay, right?” I asked.
“Yeah,” Grant said while looking over at the guys with Ash.
One of them got up and walked over. He put his hand out to me and we shook. I was waiting to hear Skoll growl but he didn’t. Claiming me had calmed the beast.
“Madison, this is Aksel,” Grant said.
“Nice to meet you, Aksel. Will you train with me?” I asked.
“What?” Askel asked, looking at me, then Grant.
“I asked if you would train with me,” I said, while watching Grant and Aksel.
He looked at Grant for confirmation. Grant nodded his head and Aksel nodded back. I trained with Aksel and I could tell that he was surprised at how strong I am, but he did the one thing I wanted him to do. He didn’t let me win. He showed me he would play to his strengths and find my weaknesses. He showed he was a good adversary and then taught me how to move away from certain blows. He was one to remember for combat and I liked his shy, sweet demeanor.
As we finished our training session, I saw a warrior walk up and Ash got up from where he was sitting with his things. The warrior motioned for Ash to follow him while he walked up to Grant and me.
“I want to thank you for watching him today, Alpha and Luna,” the warrior said.
“It’s not a problem, Milo,” Grant told him.
“If you would let us, we can watch him each day after school. I’m there with them trying to finish my senior year, so it’s not a problem to have him leave with me.”
“That would be greatly appreciated. We worry about him and he hates being at the bakery,” Milo said.
“I would be glad to watch him.”
“Thank you, Luna.”
“You’re welcome. I’ll see you tomorrow, Ash.”
“Yes ma’am,” Ash said with a bright smile.
They walked off and I smiled, knowing I was here for more than just Grant. I was here for all of them.

Today was a lot like yesterday. It was now after school and Ash was sitting under the tree doing homework while some of the others watched training. Grant was training with Otto and Aksel while I trained with Nikolay today. I loved listening to his thick Russian accent every time he spoke.
Our session was intense, but I was having issues. I wasn’t very connected with Nikolay and he let me beat him in a sparring match. Otto and Aksel needed to work with him. I appreciated him at least training with me though, and I looked forward to watching him progress as a warrior.
I knew he was a rouge before this, so his strength wasn’t there yet. He would get there though.
I sat down in the shade with Ash and watched the guys spar. Grant had always been strong, but his strength now and the way he moved was incredible. Taking on so many skilled warriors was a great task that looked easy because of him.
“You’re a good warrior,” Ash told me.
“Thank you. My father was the Beta in the pack that Alpha Grant and I were born in. He taught me most of what I know,” I said, tearing my gaze off of Grant to look at Ash.
“I hope my dad will start teaching me soon.”
“How old are you?”
“Almost nine.”
“My dad started teaching us how to train in combatives when we were ten. It’s early for girls but he wanted us to be strong.”
“So is your sister the new Beta of your old pack?” Ash asked.
“No. Her mate is.”
He nodded his head and we watched the last of the sparring sessions. Ash’s dad walked up and they left while I waved. We will be here again tomorrow for more training and for me to keep looking for my Gamma.
~
It was Friday finally and we had just gotten to the training field for another afternoon of sweating. I had no idea who I wanted to train with today. I was still on my search for a Gamma like Grant wanted, so I needed to talk with Otto. He walked up and I turned to talk with him.
“Is there an Omega in the pack that excels in training and leadership skills?” I asked him.
“Yeah, Krew,” he said, pointing at him.
I looked at Krew and motioned for him to join me. I knew where he was from and what he was. I knew about all of them.
Krew walked up and I said, ”You’re training with me today.”
“Yes ma’am," he said, giving me a small bow.
We started our training session and I assessed him like dad taught me. When we started grappling, I flipped him to the ground and he hit hard before I pinned him and he had to tap out. Krew lay on the ground trying to breathe after the wind was knocked out of him and I put my hand out to help him up.
“You’re just as brutal as your mate is,” he commented.
I laughed at him and said, “I trained with my dad my whole life and I trained with Grant here and there growing up.”
He nodded his head and went to sit while drinking some water. Grant walked up to me.
“What are you thinking when it comes to your selection?” he asked.
“I know who I want as my Gamma. I’ll announce it at the dinner of my Luna Ceremony.”
“Sounds good. Let’s get to work on your Luna Ceremony then,” he told me with a big smile.
It was time to really be the Luna now. It was time to marry the pack.
