30. Luna Madison

Madison It was now the weekend. Grant and I called our parents on Friday night to have them come to Red Stone to help set up my Luna Ceremony. We had no idea what we needed to do, so we needed guidance. Our parents, along with Grant’s younger siblings, Logan and Sebastian, showed up to help us with details and watch me take the next step as Grant's mate. The clothing store here at Red Stone wasn’t ready for me to pick clothes out yet, so mom and Luna Jamie brought me a bunch of options to try on while the guys were out training and checking on details. Several of the dresses were fit for summer so I didn't try them on. It was a bit cool here at night so I needed something less suited for summer. As I sifted through the white dresses, I found one that was a little longer and had lace sleeves to the elbows. It had a cotton bodice and skirt with a lace layer over the whole dress. I took the dress from the pile and walked into my room. I tried it on and looked in the mirror. It looked amazing and fit like it was made for me. It hugged my curves and it was a shame it would be torn to pieces. I walked out to the living room where mom, Jamie and Logan were sitting while talking. I turned to let them look at the dress fully when I entered the living room. I looked at mom who had a smile on her face and she said, “That's beautiful on you.” “I agree. It compliments your figure nicely,'' Jamie told me happily. I smiled and looked at Logan. She's assessing how I look and I wonder if she’s about to be a b***h. “It’s really nice. It’s just a shame you’re going to tear it apart,” Logan said. “I agree, but everything else is for summer weather.” She nodded and I changed out of the dress into my normal clothes. I left the dress on mine and Grant’s bed. I walked into the living room and sat with them to talk. “I still can’t believe you let him claim you so quickly,” Logan commented. I looked at her like she was crazy and asked, “Didn’t you let Sebastian claim you the first night the two of you were together?” Logan opened her mouth to protest, then stopped and thought about it. I was right and I knew it. She just wanted to be an ass in some way because I was guppy and the attention wasn't on her. “We’ve known them our entire lives, Logan. Why make them wait? You loved Sebastian even when you didn’t want to admit it. I’ve always loved Grant and I’ve always wanted to be with him, but everyone knows that,” I said. Logan huffed out while mom and Jamie laughed at us. It wasn’t wrong of us to love our mates. Logan was just different and had to fight with everyone and everything all the damn time. I heard about how they ended up mating for the first time and I thought it was horrible of her. I also know that they grapple naked on their bedroom floor before having s*x. My sisters f*****g weird. Before the very end of the day, everyone went to get ready for the ceremony at the packhouse except for Grant and me. Grant got dressed in black dress pants and a white button-up shirt. I pulled on my white dress that I picked out and pulled my hair back in a braid while looking into our bathroom mirror to make sure it was right. When I was finished, Grant came up behind me and ran his hand over my dress on my sides. I listened to him breathing in my scent and I smiled at his simple loving actions. “You’re so beautiful, Mads.” “Thank you. I think you’re quite handsome too,” I told him. He looked into my eyes through our bathroom mirror. I could see the lustful need on his face, but I could feel his lust through the bond. He wanted me and I wanted him, but we needed to calm down. We had things to do first. Once the night was over, maybe we would come back home and have some fun. It just depended on how long we were out for. He took a deep breath and I turned to face him. I placed my hand on his chest and stood on my tiptoes to kiss his lips tenderly. We stood there in each other’s presence and let our walls down to let each other feel our emotions through our bond. We hardly ever put our walls up, but sometimes we did just to function. Grant could overwhelm me sometimes and I could overwhelm him. “You’re not nervous at all,” he commented. “Nope. I was born to be your Luna. Why get nervous about it?” “Fair. Most people get nervous about it though.” “I have you by my side so there’s no reason for those nerves,” I told him with a smile. He nodded his head and looked at the time. The sun had just set so it was time to go to the packhouse. I would be taking my Luna vows under the weeping willow tree in the front yard next to the fountain. It was a beautiful spot and I loved it. Grant took my hand and we left the house. From our front porch you could see the lights in the willow tree, the chairs for the pack members and our guests and then the stage. We stepped off the porch and made our way to the ceremony area. I could hear everyone talking quietly until we were in the area. Everyone was silent as all eyes watched Grant and me approach the stage and step up onto it. There in the corner of the stage was the new pack elder, Brock, holding the pack dagger on a red pillow. He was older than our parents but not very old. Calling him an elder was odd. The dagger on the pillow Grant had made months ago and had sent me pictures of it. He was so proud of it and I realized yet again he had commissioned it thinking of me. Everything led back to me. We turned to face the crowd and right up front I saw our families and Otto sitting there with warm smiles on their faces. Behind them was the rest of the pack waiting for the ceremony to start. I figured Grant would drop my hand, but he kept holding it. Even as he addressed the pack, he held my hand. Showing that we were one no matter what. “This pack started five months ago with fifteen members and has continued to grow since. I am proud to have built this place for all of you and I’m more proud to bring you a Luna that will help guide you and protect you just as I will. Tonight, we welcome our very first Luna into the Red Stone Pack.” Grant and I turned to face each other and he still held my hand. “Madison, do you vow to honor and protect our pack and its members with your life,” Grant asked. “I do.” “Do you vow to help all of our members when they ask for it?” “Always, I will.” “Do you vow to always support your Alpha? To stand by his side, to correct him when he is wrong and guide him when needed?” “I will, forever.” “Do you, Red Stone Pack, take Madison as our first Luna?” he asked loudly as he turned his face to the pack. I looked at them just as the crowd erupted with their howls to answer their Alpha. It was incredible to listen to and to watch. I couldn’t believe my ears with how loud they were. It made me smile knowing I was accepted by them. I will be tied to these great members for the rest of my days. Elder Brock stepped forward and offered Grant the dagger. He took it and he lifted our hands that were still intertwined. I faced my palm toward the sky in his hand and he sliced it with the dagger before I moved my hand and he sliced his open. We joined palms and I could feel more of the pack link in my mind now, connecting me to more of them than before. Grant placed the dagger back on the pillow and we stepped off the stage now that the ceremony was complete. We walked toward the packhouse and shifted in between it and the school as we headed straight for the woods. The pack shifted with us and ran through the dense woods. We made our circle around the territory and before we could reach the village, Valda and Wraith howled together as one before the members howled back in response. We reached the packhouse and pulled clothes on before going inside to the dining hall to have dinner as a pack. Our family met us there with all the pack pups that were all too excited to see us. They all hugged me before hugging Grant. I saw him out of the corner of my eye watching me with the pups and smiling. I watched him with them too. He had always been good with younger pups because of his sisters, so I knew he would be good with our own one day. I looked forward to our future together and the family we would build, but that wasn’t happening anytime soon. Once everyone was inside, we all sat down to eat dinner. The kitchen staff brought out the meal that I had requested and I smiled brightly as I bit into my first spicy chicken taco with avocado here at my new home. This was my favorite dish in the world and the kitchen did an amazing job with it. I ate my first taco then looked over at Grant. He looked at me with raised eyebrows and I nodded my head. He knew what it meant and stood up from his seat. The dining hall went quiet as the members noticed their Alpha standing to speak. I smiled that they were so attentive to him. I stood up next to him and listened as he spoke first. “Most of you know about my older brother’s Gamma campaign in the packs. I am happy to say that we will follow what he has put in place. I just wanted our Luna to pick her Gamma instead of me picking that person. The Gamma is the person that will help her in daily activities and protect her when needed. So who did you pick, Madison?” I smiled as I looked at the crowd, then said, “After sparring with our best warriors that have the leadership qualities I was looking for, I have chosen Aksel as my Gamma.” I saw Aksel smile brightly at me and the packhouse erupted with howls and whistles as they congratulated him. Grant and I took our seats once more and finished eating dinner. We sat there and talked with our family members and pack members. As the members started to go home, they stopped in and congratulated me before telling us goodnight. The last people in the packhouse were my parents, Grant's parents and our siblings, along with Otto and Aksel. Aksel came and sat beside me and I turned my attention to him. “What would you like me to do while you are at school tomorrow?” he asked me. “Go around the pack and ask members what we still need here. Make a list of things, activities and businesses that they mention. Whatever they tell you, write it down so I can look it over. Make sure to put their name next to their suggestion so I can speak with them. I just need to know what I can do for them and I can’t do that while I’m stuck in class.” He nodded his head in understanding. I was happy that I would have help now. I would now learn more about the pack's needs and wants as we grow. “Also, I will need to order furniture for my office. It will serve as our office really. You can work there while I’m at school.” “Ok,” he said with a grin. Soon it was late and we all said goodnight to head to our spaces for the evening. I was already dragging ass as we got home and crawled into bed together. I hated that I wouldn’t be able to sleep in tomorrow. School sucked.
