(Landon)
It was great seeing Micah happy. It made me feel better about how I had treated him before. The only problem today was Logan; he just doesn't know when to stop touching my mate. I was on my way to his room to talk to him.
He had Chandra, so I don't understand why he's so obsessed with my boy. At the end of the day, Micah was mine, and I'd be damned if I allowed anyone to take him from me.
When I arrived at Logan's room door, I pounded on it angrily. Shortly after that, Chandra opened the door. Her eyes widened when she saw me; it's like she knew why I was there. She tried to close the door in my face, but I stopped it. I wasn't going to leave until I talked to her deadbeat mate.
“Where's Logan?” I asked in a menacing tone. She sighed and folded her arms.
“He's taking a shower. I suggest that you come back another time. I can't deal with the stress right now.” I came here to warn Logan to stay away from my mate. If he doesn't listen, I'll have no other choice but to go to Jacob so that he can punish him, and by punishing him, I mean send him to no man's land.
“What's going on here?” Logan gently moved Chandra to the side to see who was at the door. When he saw it was me, he smirked and wrapped the towel around his waist tighter, maybe he thought this was a joke. But it wasn't.
“What the f**k is your problem with Micah?” I asked, suddenly feeling like I could strangle him as he continued to smirk, acting as if this were funny to him.
Chandra slapped him on his arm and started to whisper something to him. I wasn't focusing on her. I was only focusing on the blood boiling through my body. One wrong move, and I'd beat the crap out of him.
“I don't have a problem with him; he's just fun to be around,” Logan replied, as if he were teasing me.
“Fun to be around? f**k that. What's the real reason?” I asked, knowing there was something going on that he was failing to tell me.
“There is no other reason, man. Micah and I are just friends. There's no need for you to act like the jealous boyfriend.” My hand shot out, grabbing him by the throat and squeezing it, forgetting that he was more powerful than I was, since he's an alpha, and I'm only a beta.
The rage inside of me doubled when Shane decided to get involved. He, too, wanted Logan to stop messing around with his mate.
“Don't you dare mess with what's mine. I'm here to warn you, stop getting so close to Micah. He's my mate; Chandra is yours, she is your mate, so please try to remember that.” I pulled my hand away because it seemed as if my grip on his neck wasn't effective at all.
He only rolled his eyes and patted me on my head. I pushed his hand away, feeling irritated as he laughed a little.
“I'm not after your mate, damn it. I'm not even gay or bi. Micah is like a little brother to me. I'm hanging around him because I miss Arlo. Jacob hardly allows us to spend time with him, so Micah was just a replacement.” Somehow, I didn't believe him. They saw Arlo all the time and still treated him like a pup even though he's eighteen.
I'm just glad that Marcus and Manny weren't here to corrupt my mate and Arlo, the way they did before. It was just too much whenever they and Arlo's family were involved.
“Whatever, just stay away from my mate.” He gave me a look, as if that wasn't going to happen. He better let it happen, though, because I'll make his life miserable going forward, and that's something he wouldn't like at all.
