Following him a few steps behind, his partner was talking to a dispatcher, asking if any other unit had remained behind this residence after setting the place up for house arrest.
As neither of them had noted any vehicle parked anywhere visible, they didn’t find that latter possibility to be likely. Indeed, the dispatch confirmed a moment later that they were the only police officers left in that area.
