I instantly felt a rush of anger, a surge of betrayal that ignited my instincts. “Where is he?” I growled, my fists clenching. “Where’s Jax?”
Before the anyone could respond, I caught sight of Jax lurking at the edge of the clearing, slowly backing away his expression a mixture of anger and defiance. “Does that dumb b***h think she can just come here and accuse me?” Jax spat, taking a step forward. “I didn’t betray anyone!”
“Then explain yourself!” I shouted, my voice echoing through the trees. “Tell me what you really planned.”
“I didn’t want this!” Jax roared back, his eyes flashing with fury. “I didn’t want any of this to happen! But you don’t understand what I’ve lost!”
