Jumping was easy, but avoiding the guards was something else. I didn’t think guards would be stationed around this part of the mansion, but here they were. Perhaps it was just my bad luck.
Josh led the way as we walked out of our hiding corner, towards the entrance. The air was still, quiet. I knew. I knew that whatever had happened here in the last few hours had sent everyone deep into their homes. Except the guards.
They were tensed, careful, and ready for another fight.
“Luna?” this voice caused both me and Josh’s steps to still. I turned around to see one of the guards looking at me with surprise.
“Ben.” I called and he hurried forward, wanting to say something but I shushed him up. “You can’t tell anyone I was here, okay?”
