She was sitting on the guest chair when we walked in, sipping a cup of coffee.
“Sloane?” I called, my voice carrying a hint of surprise. Well, I wasn’t exactly expecting it to be her when the guard said someone from the first clan was here.
“Olivia.” She looked up, lips curving. “Nice to see you again.”
“I’m not sure it’s exactly nice.”
“For you, maybe.” She shrugged and then her gaze wandered to Brian. “Actually, today I am here to see you, Olivia. Just you.”
I exchanged a look with Brian and he just gave me a kiss on my forehead before he left but I knew he was close by in case anything goes wrong even though he knows I was perfectly capable of protecting myself.
Sloane could be here today for many things and none of it was for a good cause.
