“That f*****g asshole.” He stepped in, and then sighed. “What happened, Liv?”
“Nothing.”
“Don’t give me that.” He sat next to me, and touched my hand gently. “I’ve been so worried about you and Liah. One time you were here, and then, all of a sudden, you disappeared. For two years, Olivia.”
“We communicated, didn’t we?”
“You refused to tell me where you had gone. How could I be at peace?”
“Dane,” I covered my hands with his. “You’ve been my good friend for years, but there are certain things I still cannot tell you. We come from different worlds. M-my life… has not been what you’ve seen. And… you can’t know everything.”
