9-Rose POV My shift in the kitchen had been relatively uneventful. Signing out and saying goodbye to the other omegas, I walked home, knowing it was too late to ask my mom to come walk with me. She was struggling with sleep ever since my dad passed away and took pills to help. I don't think she slept more than an hour or two a night, at least not properly. I was about halfway home when I heard someone rustling around, whistling. I turned around and saw a big black wolf with large yellow eyes, swirling with anger and bitterness. Trying to stay calm, I froze, hands out, slowly backing away. I was too far from the pack-house and our family home was on the outskirts of town. No one would hear me.
