As I began slowly drifting into the dreamworld, I had a premonition that what was about to happen next would not be pleasant. I knew that we had triggered some kind of trap that might prove to be life-threatening. Thinking about this, I desperately tried to keep my eyes open, but the exhaustion was like a hammer that struck my consciousness over and over without remorse. So, I gave in and closed my eyes. When I came to, my vision was blurred, and it took several blinks to bring what I was seeing back into focus. I clutched my throbbing head and tried to shake myself awake, not wanting to fall prey to the fog of confusion that held me in its grasp.
