If Skylar and the rest of the pirates encountered the vines before, I'm sure they wouldn't be thinking this way, I realized. They must not have realized that the Garden of Eden has man-eating vines waiting to devour them!
"What should we do?" Euphie asked, concerned.
"Let's just follow Skylar for the time being," I suggested. "The three of you need to be on your guard, alright? If the vines get the rest of them, don't bother saving them. Run as quickly as you can and save yourself first. Will you protect us too, please?" I asked the little monkey on Yvonne's shoulder. I was only half-joking. The monkey had shown incredible intelligence and the ability to cooperate with us to achieve the goals it apparently agreed with us. Who was to say that it couldn't help us out in times of danger?
