Lily advised Nicole to leave me.
Well, she didn’t necessarily tell her that but it was implied and I wasn’t sure how to feel about that.
At least the two women weren’t fighting anymore. They still couldn’t have a regular conversation with each other so Nicole just made sure to stay clear of the house while I had my agent send me pictures of a new place. I wanted to delegate the work, but I didn’t want any whispers of me moving out before the board vote.
As for Nicole, after five different interviews and three different offers, she’d chosen a job, which meant I could no longer look at her through my office.
I already missed working with her, but I knew her decision to leave was for the best. I was the one who put it in her head anyway.
