Someone at the door handed her a phone. "Hello?" Marilyn said. "Hey sis," a voice same through a crackle on the connection. "The brass told me I should give you a call. Something about an audition?" "That's right, Brent. I sang a song for you." "I was a stupid kid, Marilyn. When I get back to the States I want to come and see you." "Anytime," Marilyn whispered. "Good luck with the audition." "I made it through, Brent. I'm in the next round." "That's fantastic," Brent's excitement somehow came through the static. "Love you, sis." Marilyn whispered goodbye and realized she was on her knees weeping while the cameras recorded. She didn't care. She had her brother back.
