Sawyer repeated what Elizabeth had said with a hint of amusement in his tone. "The bastard child of a dead man?" Elizabeth squirmed to get off his lap and then sat on the bed beside him with her arms crossed. "Is there something funny about that?" "Not really. It's just the sort of insult my father would have used. Insulting people's lineage isn't exactly your thing." Elizabeth shrugged and looked out of the window again, without trying to really see anything outside. "I didn't care about my lineage until I met you. I would never even have used the word, I think it's ridiculous...I know that it's a big deal to you, though. And it's how my father's pack would see me if we ever went there, if they even believed us, so I'm not going to subject myself to abuse from yet more people.
