Francesca waited a while after getting back with the drinks before she brought up the fact she could hear everything that they were talking about in the other room.
It wasn’t a surprise - they weren’t trying to be discreet and the conversation was not something that Francesca shouldn’t have heard - but it still made both men feel guilty when she mentioned it.
Sawyer apologized, but she waved her hand dismissively and rolled her eyes at his apology.
“It’s fine; and for the record, neither of you have ever bothered to ask me why I stayed. If you want to know, you can just ask.”
Sawyer was surprised by how calm and open she was being, but his sister actually seemed to be serious, and he noticed that Jonas had leaned forward a little as he was considering whether he wanted to ask or not.
