For a moment, I just lay there, listening to the steady rhythm of Alexander’s breathing. His arm was heavy around my waist, warm and protective even in sleep. The city light filtered through the curtains, pale and soft, painting everything in quiet gold.
I admired how peaceful he looked, and I couldn’t help the smile that formed on my lips at how perfect this seemed. Our night together yesterday, the way he held me in his arms like I was the only thing that mattered.
