Chapter 2

I woke up, and slowly began to take in my surroundings. For a mere moment it felt like I was dreaming, but to my horror this nightmare was very much real. I could hear the rain outside, I was still wet. What had he done to me? Why!? and what were his plans?     There were candles all around the room, it looked like they had been burning for a long time. Symbols were written all over the wooden walls. My head was pounding, the noise of it drowned the rain out. I couldn't move, my hands and feet were tied with a rope, I pulled at the knots. I couldn't loosen them, I looked around for a knife for anything sharp.      I was able to slowly get up in a squat, I started to hop around. I was in the middle of no where clearly no one would hear my screams, he would have gagged me if anyone could. Suddenly a door flung open and Amus came in. He gave me a hard kick and I fell down in pain trying to catch my breath. "You're not going anywhere, as a matter of fact you're going to help with a neat ritual." He grabbed me by my hair and pulled my face up. "f**k you!" I spit in his face and he slapped me, breaking the skin on my lip.      "What f*****g cult is this, you sick f**k" I was starting to feel more anger than fear. I was mad that I had been stupid enough to allow this psycho to kidnap me and drag me into a cabin in the woods. I looked down and finally noticed that there was huge symbol encased in a circle and I was in the middle of it.     "Cult? It is much bigger than that little girl. This involves demons with dark powers. " He let out a laugh and walked towards a cabinet. Great, he had to be some sort of satanist. " I was waiting for a car to come down the road to flag down, and you just happened to be the car, you were there at the right time at the right place. Except you didn't stop. " He sighed as he took a black book out. Yup definitely a satanist.     "I can feel broken bones. It hurts to be honest with you. But that will all be fixed shortly." He pulled out a huge hunting knife out of his coat. I started to shake then, my anger was replaced with fear again. "If you let me go I wont tell anyone Ill just drive away." I pleaded. "Liar." He scoffed.     "There is a whole other world that humans only hear whispers of you know. A world were demons and angels exist in a war, and in like any war they are recruiting. I have turned my application in, but like everything else its a process and I have one last step left. For my soon to come immortality, I have to pay a due and that due is you. Well your life anyway, it will replace mine." He opened the book and flipped through the pages.     "Ah here we are. The ritual Mamon. Are you ready?" He smirked. He began to read but the words were not in english and they did not make sense, what I did know was that this man was going to kill me. I tried to get back into the squatting position. I put my feet under me, the rope didn't have much slack to it but it was something.     He was still reading out loud when I saw his hand come down towards me, in it the knife. I was not going to die here, I couldn't. I put everything I could to get up and shove him. I lounged upward and forward, he stumbled  back. As he tried to get his footing to lunge back at me he stepped on one of the melted candles and slipped.      I was in a full panic getting ready for another attack. My legs shook with adrenaline, my hand were balled up in fists, my eyes were wide and my breathing became more erratic. Time seemed to slow down as I looked at the man on the floor.     He didn't get up, he wasn't moving. Blood gushed from underneath him, I became terrified. What had happened? I hopped towards the door but I couldn't' reach the knob. Quickly I went to one of the candles and let the fire burn the rope. The rope burned and as it did it burned me too. I pulled until it finally snapped, I shot up finally able to stand up straight. I hopped right back to the door but the knob wouldn't turn. It was locked.     I turned around to see the slumped body still on the ground, I took a deep breath and kicked his body over. I let out a shocked gasp. The hunting knife was sticking out of his chest, he had fallen on it. What were the odds of that! He was dead, he had killed himself on accident. His face was twisted in pain and his fingers were curled as if trying to claw at something. I swallowed my horror and fear, this was not over yet.     I snapped back into action and checked his pockets. I found the keys! I was about to get up until I realized I could use the knife to cut the rest of the rope. It took some strength but I was able to at least pull half of it out. With it still attached to him I started to cut the rope away. It was very gruesome but desperate times call for desperate measures. I finally got my hands free, I then untied my feet. I ran to the door and unlocked it.     In a frantic panic I searched for an exit, I saw the front door and I ran for it. I was almost there when suddenly I felt a huge surge of energy hit me, it was like a pulse. I fell out of the cabin and onto the mud. My whole body felt like there was some sort of energy running through it, it felt like I had been struck by lightning with my whole body buzzing. I screamed, What was going on! I turned around but saw no one. I ran to my car, slipping a few times. I slammed the door close and hit the locks. I turned the car on and high tailed it out of there. My hands were shaking but I kept them tight on the steering wheel. I glanced at the review mirror which had been disturbed during the struggle. It was pointing straight at my face, I looked a mess. My lip was still bleeding and I was covered in mud. My hair looked more like dreads  caked with mud and half my face looked swollen from the fall.  The rain had thankfully stopped. All I could think of was getting home.
