This Devil May Cry

Chapter 5

    I finally came to a stop and fell to the ground gasping for air. My whole body was vibrating and buzzing, it was hard to concentrate. I felt nauseous for a moment, I put my hand over my mouth trying not to throw up. My hand felt hot still. I threw my backpack off me and tried to make sense of everything that had just happened, but I couldn't. Whatever had happened to Kenna sure looked like I had caused it, but it couldn't be it was impossible. Suddenly I heard some twigs snap and I immediately stood up looking around.

    "Boo!" I heard a voice say behind me. I screamed and fell down to the ground, a man stepped in front of me. I looked up. He wore black boots with denim jeans and a black shirt. He was tall, muscular, his skin had a tan to it, he had sharp facial features with jet black hair. His eyes were like embers burning through me, suddenly I felt fear.

    "Who are you!" I screamed, trying to be brave. He chuckled and began to circle me. He got in front of me and kneeled down to look me in the eye. "Are you ready" He grinned, a tiny fang poked out from the corner of his eye. For some reason it reminded me of a fox. He offered me his hand. "Ready for what?" I managed to say. I scooted back away from him, getting wet dirt all over my jeans. "Ready for your new life, we should get going before someone finds your dead friend." He answered.

    My blood turned cold, he had seen it. "It was an accident, I didn't mean to, I don't know what happened." I slapped his hand away and got up. "Of course, just like the man in the cabin, what was his name? Ah yes Amus" He chuckled again, his tiny fangs poking through. "This isn't happening." I whimpered. The vibration in my body intensified and I felt as if my body would explode again. My head was spinning, how did he know?

    "Confusing, I am sure all of this is to you. After all it was Amus who was trying to summon me, but it didn't work out for him did it? You were the one that summoned me instead" His eyes flashed black for a moment, he looked supernatural then. He reached out for me again.

    I gasped and stepped back. "What is happening and who are you? What are you?" My body was shaking again, I was frozen. My feet were stuck in place I couldn't move. "I will tell you everything once we are in your car and on the road." He c****d his head sideways as if straining to listen to something. He stepped forward. "They have found her, we really should be getting out of here." He started to walk and motioned for me to follow.

    "No." I stood in place. He turned around and his eyes flashed black again, suddenly I felt my feet moving, something was pulling me. I tried to resist but my body wasn't responding to my brain. "Fine then by force it is, come on. " He began walking and I tagged along unwillingly. I didn't understand anything that was going on, Why couldn't I control my limbs? Every step he took I matched, somehow he was controlling me.

    We walked through the woods, I could hear and ambulance sounding in the distance. Kenna, what had I done to her? I had so many emotions running through me, I was having a breakdown. I saw my car, "Keys?" he put his hand out. I felt whatever force that was holding me disappear. I could move my limbs voluntarily again. I took a few steps back and thought about running.

    "Don't. You can't get away, just do us all a favor an cooperate I would hate to make you do things forcefully." His eyes flashed black again and I could feel the same force as before starting to grip me. I was trapped.  I threw the keys at him finally giving in and began walking towards the car again. I had no idea what was going on or what I had done but I just wanted to be away from it all. I felt out of it, my mind nor my body felt like they were in the present.

    I heard him laugh once more before we both got in the car. My body was buzzing and my head felt fuzzy, I just wanted to close my eyes and wake up to my normal boring life .My body still vibrated but it wasn't as intense anymore. I looked over at him, he still had a smirk on his face. He looked so unnatural, he was charming yet intimidating. He started the car, backed out and we headed out of town, destination unknown.
