So there I was. with a black eyed stranger leaving town. At this point I had been so overwhelmed with emotions that I had become numb, I needed someone to take over because I couldn't. "I guess I should introduce myself. My name is Ramious, and you are Alice." He turned to look at me, his eyes a rich honey this time, he almost looked all human until he grinned. I turned my gaze to the road, I didn't want to see his eyes go black again.
"How terrifying this must all be for you." He chuckled. He gave a deep short sigh and ran his finger through his black hair. "Unfortunately for you, you have been brought into a world of war, an ancient battle. Aumus, you remember him? the man you killed in the cabin." He said. I shook my head, "I didn't kill him, he slipped and killed himself." A vision of that moment overcame me as if I was back there again.
"So that was an accident? But you wanted him to stop you wanted him to disappear. You were glad when he died!." He was taunting me.
"I wanted to be away from him and that cabin. If he hadn't slipped then he would have killed me." I was not a murderer. It had obviously been an accident, but how would he even know he wasn't there.
"Maybe. Then again you killed your friend today. Is every kill going to be an accident?" He looked at me sheepishly. "They were both accidents." I said sternly. I was being honest both had been accidents I would take everything back if I could, well at least what I had done to Kenna "Oh Alice, you know they both deserved it. You shouldn't feel bad, not one bit." He said.
But I did feel bad, I felt terrible. "What was Amus doing? He called it The Ritual of Mamon." I needed to know what had caused all of this turmoil in the last twenty-four hours. " He was making me into a sacrifice, to summon something." I said. I remembered every thing clearly.
"Ah Mamon. The great Devil, the one we fight for and die for." He chuckled. "Millennia ago in times when men were still new to this world a deal was struck between evil and good. Men had become corrupted, evil had entered their world and that evil gave birth to us. In those early days there were an abundance of angelic beings, the Archangels. Before a fallen angel brought the evil into him and the world, everything had been peaceful.
"His name was Mamon. He despised the human race. His creator also created the humans, he became obsessed with them. Before the humans, the archangels were his pride and joy but once humans came the archangels were put in the back burner. This became a sore subject to Mamon, it was the thorn in his side. His anger and jealously grew with the ever growing evolution of the humans. For centuries the archangels were tasked in helping the humans, weak little creature that couldn't even take flight. They whispered love and loyalty and innocence into their ears. The first men were untainted by evil all they knew was what the angels whispered into their ears.
"The angels had become slaves to them, this stirred conflict within the heavenly beings. Mamon saw them as burdens to his race. They had fought great wars and monsters to keep hold of the earth, and now they were reduced to servants. The angels feared the creator for a snap of his fingers would eliminate them, no one dare question him. The truth of the matter was that the angels needed the pure souls of the humans to keep the kingdom of light alive.
"The creator was born in a different world with a very powerful race. Unparalleled power, magnificent rulers but his world was destroyed and earth gave him sanctuary. He promised to bring it to life, he created the archangels and they tended to mother earth and kept her thriving. Light years later the creator began to get sick, many archangels sacrificed themselves so he could absorb their light into his body and stay alive. He loved his children and didn't want them to be sacrifices. That is when he created the first humans, the pure innocent souls fueled his body.
"Their souls gave light to the kingdom, it was the circle of life. Humans began to evolve, and with that evolution came new traits. Humans became cunning little creatures, they began to have a mind of their own. The angels whispers were ignored. They established civilizations with ruthless rulers. They had become tainted, and a dark soul is no good for the kingdom of light. Mamon thought finally it was the end of mankind, surely the creator would wipe them out.
"But the creator did not destroy them instead he kept helping them for there were still some who were pure and untainted. The tainted were allowed to repent for their sins and cleanse their souls of the evil. This infuriated Mamon and he too began to evolve into his own persona. If his creator was not going to rid the world of the pests then he would. He planned to wipe them all out.
"He gathered and army of angels who thought the same as he did. They were done being slaves to such an unpure race, an inferior race. The creator had become significantly weaker they did not have to fear the snap from his fingers now. The bright light Mamon once had inside him was all but snuffed out at this point, his heart had been filled with darkness. On earth he brought plagues and natural disasters to try and exterminate them. Soon they would be vulnerable enough to attack and wipe out. His army awaited for the chance.
"The Angels heard whispers of his army, the humans prayed for their light to protect them. The creator listened, he always did. When the creator heard of Mamons plan he sent his own army down to protect the human race, but Mamon was ready for this. Not only did he have archangels on his side but he also had become a creator himself. Through intense trial an error he created his own children. No light just darkness, they were meant to be warriors, win the battle at any cost.
When the the creators army descended it became a blood bathe. For ten nights and days darkness and light fought. It ravished the earth, thousands of us were killed with equal fatalities on the other side. Humans were loyal to the creator, pure souls, were in battle as well. Four human kings brought their armies in his aid. King Baleor, King Kiran, King Jamie, and King Aries. There was even a queen, a fine warrior, Queen Lilith. A few million bodies were in that battle field by the end of it only a thousand stood.
"On the tenth day, as the creator saw the wars toll, he knew it had to end soon. But they were both equally matched something had to be done. With the last of his strength he snapped his fingers and stopped the battle on its track. It was just him and Mamon now. His humans were almost wiped out, and he could not afford to loose them. On that tenth day evil and good entered into a contract.
"The creator knew that even if he destroyed Mamon there would be others. He asked Mamon for a truce. Mamon and his Devils would retreat into the underworld, every now and then when summoned he could come into the human world not to kill the humans but merely to whisper in their ears.
"They could make suggestions, whisper evil into their ears and if they succeeded in corrupting those humans, the creator would take his light from them and Mamon would be able to drag their souls down into his underworld. But if his angels were able to shine light on them then their souls would come into the kingdom of light. Souls were to be used as a objects to feed their existence. Mamon knew that the creator could destroy him in that very moment, it wasn't a bad deal. They shook on it
"Before the creator retreated he took the last of Mamon's light, cutting the tie between him and the light kingdom. With the light gone from his body Mamon he could finally embrace the darkness fully.
"Through out time, famine, infestations, wars, battles, pandemics spread and those who succumbed to the evil were sent to Mamon. Those who offered worship to the light were saved. A balance was kept. Everything ran smooth, until one day the Creator went silent, he took his light away from the human race. He left his precious angels behind to keep the peace."
"Without his protection, Mamon was able to bring more devils to the battle field. With the pact still intact he could not just wipe out the human race. He initiated the second war."
