The Last Rejection

I woke up two days ago feeling much better and without any pain. Today was Friday and I was going to go to school. I finished my breakfast that Ashley made.

“Are you sure you’re ready to go to school? You can stay home today and go on Monday or the week after” Jyles said and I chuckled.

“I’m sure. I promise I have no pain and Doctor Susan said I was fine. I promise that if I feel any pain or discomfort I’ll call you. Plus, you’re the Beta of the pack and you have responsibilities” I told him and he grumbled making Ashley chuckled.

“She’s going to be fine, my love” Ashley assured him.

“Fine, but you call me if you feel anything or if that Alpha bothers you” he said and I nodded. I will. I brushed my teeth then grabbed my skateboard. I ran down the stairs and gave my brother a kiss on the cheek then a kiss to Ashley.

“I love you both and lock the door when you leave” I said as I put on my Airpods, hit play on my playlist and jumped on my skateboard heading to school. I have a car but it’s at school. Jyles left it there too worried about me. When I got to school I grabbed my skateboard and placed it in my car. I walked into school and went to my locker to grab my books for my first classes when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned and saw Lori, the cheer captain.

“Hey Jousett, I know we don’t talk much, but I want to change that. Some friends and I are going to a club and I want to know if you would like to go with us” Lori said. I had to look to my left then to my right before looking at her as she giggled.

“I’m talking to you, silly. So, do you want to go? It’s going to be great fun, I promise”, Lori said.

“I’m only eighteen, I can’t drink” I said.

“This club is different. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it” she smiled. After what I have been through that I could have died from that rejection… I need to have fun and enjoy life. There’s nothing wrong with going to the club, having a few drinks and dance for a little while.

“Sure Lori, I’ll go to the club with you” I said and she smiled like the Chester Cheetos cat.

“Perfect” she smiled and took my phone from my back pocket and put her number on my phone.

“Send me your address and I’ll pick you up at eleven” she said handing me back my phone and waving her fingers as she walked away to her friends. I turned back to my locker and for a second I wondered if I did the right thing. I start walking to my first class and I see Jason with his friends. As soon as he sees me his eyes widened in pure shock. Yeah, he probably thought I was dead. His friends also looked at me in shock, but I ignored them and continued walking.

I went through classes like it was nothing, though I could feel everyone looking at me at lunch I continued to ignored them and continued eating. The bell rings, signaling the end of school. I put on my airpods and take out my phone hitting play on my play list, then I grab my bag along with my books and head to my locker. I love the soundtrack from the movie ‘Queen of the Damned’ so that’s what I’m listening to it.

I open my locker and put my books inside before I start walking out to the school parking lot and I swear I could feel all eyes on me as soon as I walked out of the school. From the corner of my eye I saw one of Jason's friends nudge him and gesture towards me, but I didn’t turn to look at him or anyone. I kept walking with my head held high and my shoulders back. I took out my car key control and pressed the start button twice so the car can start. I got in just as my phone rang. I looked at it to see it was Jyles.

“Hey” I said picking up the phone.

“Hey little moon. How are you feeling?” Jyles asked.

“I feel good” I said truthfully.

“Did that asshole bother you?” Jyles asked and I could hear the low growl in his voice.

“No, no one did” I said.

“That’s good. I just wanted to make sure you’re okay. I won’t be able to make it to you this weekend because I have work to do, but I’ll call you to make sure you’re okay. I also deposited some money into your account” he said. I usually see him every weekend with Ashley. Sometimes we go out to the mall, we have a picnic, chill at the house or sometimes take a trip somewhere. I like going to different places, but I love staying home and just spend time with my brother and his girlfriend or should I say mate.

“Thank you, but you don’t have to do that. You already do so much by paying the bill” I tell him.

“You’re my sister and I want to take care of you. Now I don’t want no ifs or buts. I have to go now but call me if you need anything. I love you little moon” Jyles too.

“I love you too my knight in shining armor” I smiled. I chuckled and hung up. I’ve always called him my knight in shining armor. He’s always been there for me and is always saving me from doing something stupid. I texted Lori my address then continued heading home. When I got home, I made dinner for myself. When dinner was done I sat down in the living room to eat and watched forty eight hours. When nine o’clock came I decided to get ready.

I went to the bathroom and undressed then turned on the shower. I washed my body, shaved everywhere, washed my hair, then washed my body again twice. When I was done, I got out, and towel dried myself and put on a black lace thong. I began to blow dry my hair, before curling it a little. I didn’t want it to be too curly. When I was done with my hair, I did a burgundy smokey eye, eyeliner, mascara, and twenty four hour last matte lipstick. I love this lipstick cause you can do anything and it stays on.

I then walked to my room and put on a black bodycon dress that hugged my body perfectly showing every curve I have and the dress came a little bit below mid thigh and I wore black high heel sandals with the strap around the ankles. I grabbed a burgundy clutch and put my ID, my credit card, and a couple of things more. Then I heard the sound of a horn and I knew Lori was outside. I grabbed my keys and walked out locking the door behind me.

“Damn Jousett” Lori said while the other girls wolf whistle making me blush. I got in the SUV and Lori began to drive outside the city.

“Have you been to a club before, Jousett?” Lori asked.

“No, this is my first time” I said.

“Oh, then you’re going to have fun” Glory, one of Lori’s friends said.

“Yeah, especially after Jason rejected you” Carrie, another friend of Lori said making me stiffen.

“How is it that you’re still alive? We’ve never heard of a human surviving a rejection, especially from an Alpha”, Lori asked.

“I don’t know, but I’m glad I am” I said, and they nodded. I was ready to have fun and forget about what happened with Jason.
