Doctor Susan

(Jyles) I held her closer to me as she silently let the tears fall. My wolf began to purr softly, and I was glad to see that she was slowly calming down. There was a knock on the door and I carefully got up and laid her down on the sofa before I opened the door to see Doctor Susan. “Hello Beta Jyles” Susan said, bowing her head. Jousett looks at me when she hears the title. I gave her a smile before gesturing to Doctor Susan to enter. "Please, come in Susan, and thank you for coming", I said, closing the door. “Hello Doctor Susan. This is my sister Jousett. Little moon this is Doctor Susan” I introduced. “Hello” Jousett gave a small smile but it didn’t reach her eyes. “Hello dear. That's a beautiful name you have. Beta Jyles told me you were rejected my your mate. I’m sorry to hear that. Jousett, may I come closer to check your vitals?” Doctor Susan asked and Jousett looked at me. “I’m here, and I won’t let anyone hurt you” I assured her and Jousett nodded. My gaze was fixed on Doctor Susan, I felt a strange mixture of admiration and helplessness. She moves with practiced confidence, her hands gentle but precise as she begins to take Jousett’s vitals. I can see the tension in Jousett’s posture - how her shoulders are tense, almost guarded, as if she’s bracing for some unseen storm. Her eyes flicker with a mix of wariness and frustration, a reflection of the rejection she’s just experienced from her werewolf mate. It’s heartbreaking to see her like this, vulnerable and exposed beneath her calm exterior. Doctor Susan gently places her stethoscope against Jousett’s chest, listening to her heartbeat. She’s patient, careful not to startle her further. Her heartbeat is steady, but I catch the faint flicker of anxiety in her eyes - an echo of the rejection still lingering in her mind. She notes the rhythm and then moves to her pulse, her fingers pressing lightly against her wrist. Her touch is professional but warm, a stark contrast to the cold rejection Jousett just endured. Next, she grabs her small, portable blood pressure cuff, wrapping it carefully around Jousett's arm. As she inflates it slowly, Jousett shifts slightly, muscles tensing beneath the fabric. I can tell she’s trying to hold herself together, trying not to let us see how much the rejection has shaken her. Susan’s voice remains soothing, her tone gentle as she asks how she’s feeling, her words designed to comfort even in this clinical moment. When she finishes with the cuff, she checks his temperature with a small digital thermometer, her eyes softening as she observes my sister. Despite the rejection, she doesn’t rush or show any impatience - her focus remains on ensuring Jousett’s well being. I notice the way she glances at my sister, as if silently offering reassurance that she’s safe, even if the emotional pain still hangs heavy in the air. Her final step is to record the vitals, her pen moving smoothly across her notepad. She’s efficient but compassionate, aware of the emotional weight in the room. Jousett shifts again, a subtle sign of discomfort, but she doesn’t press. Instead, she gently places her hand on my sister's shoulder, a quiet gesture of support, as if to say that she’s there for her, no matter what. “Sweetheart, do you know the rank of the werewolf who rejected you?” Doctor Susan asked. “He’s an Alpha”, Jousett replied, and Doctor Susan looked at her with wide eyes, then looked at me. ‘Beta Jyles, how is she still alive?’ Doctor Susan linked me. ‘I don’t know but I’m glad she is’ I linked back. ‘I am too, but I have seen humans die even when an Omega rejects them. The fact that she’s alive is a miracle, but I do have to give her some of the potion that Alice gave me’ Doctor Susan links me. ‘Give her anything you have to give her if it makes her feel better’ I told her. “Jousett, I have a potion here from a witch. She’s a friend of the pack. It will help with the pain from the rejection. I’m just going to inject you with 50cc’s. its going to make you sleepy but it will help” Doctor Susan said. I watched as Doctor Susan injected my sister with the potion making her grimace. The potion took effect quick as Jousett’s eyes began to close. “She’s going to be out probably for another two more days. The potion needs to do it’s thing. When she wakes up again let me know so I can come and check on her” Doctor Susan said. “Okay, thank you for coming” I said. “It’s no problem. Have a goodnight Beta Jyles” Doctor Susan said. I opened the door for her just in time to see my mate about to knock. “Hey babe” I smiled. “Hi love. Is everything okay?” my mate asked as she looked over at my sister. “Yes, I just had Doctor Susan come and check on Jousett” I said and Ashley nodded coming inside. Doctor Sussan bows her head in respect and leaves. I closed the door and turned to my mate. “I found out who Jousett’s mate was” she said and I felt my wolf push forward. “Who” my wolf and I said together. “Alpha Jason, of the Moonlit Pack” Ashley said. “What?!” I growled loudly making my sister jump but she didn’t wake up. “I know. Alpha James is one of the most egotistical alphas known in the continent”, Ashley said. “How did you find out it was him?” I asked. “I went to the school and asked to see their surveillance videos. I looked through it and saw when Jason grabbed Jousett by her upper arm and dragged her to a classroom which is probably where you found her” Ashley said. I was angry – no I was pissed off. “How could he be so reckless and reject her just like that knowing she’s a human? He didn’t even care if anything happened to her” I growled. “I know baby but the good thing is that she’s alive and she’s here with us” Ashley said. “You’re right, but I want him to stay away from my sister and I will make sure he does” I said and my mate hugged me. I gently picked up my sister and placed her on her bed and covered her. “Come on baby, let’s go rest” I said and she nodded. “Yes, you look like you have been awake the whole time you were here” she said. She had no idea that I have been up since I found my sister unconscious in that classroom. “Yes, my love” we both went to my room and laid down. Ashley placed my head on her chest and scratched my head and in no time I was asleep.
