Maddox's POV.
"Congratulations" I smile as I hug Zelda. She smiles and hugs me back.
"I did not know what to get you as a graduation gift. So I'm leaving the choice to you. Ask me anything" I say and she just shakes her head.
"Seriously. Ask me anything and I will buy that for you" I say and she shrugs, thinking for a moment.
Knowing Zelda, I already guessed what she was going to ask me. But I patiently wait for her to say that already.
"Remember the book shatter me?" She asks and I nod.
"The one with the girl whose skin is lethal?" I ask and she excitedly nods. The way she is excited over books and not me is hurting me somewhere. But it's fine. They are books and I am a person. That's what I tell myself to justify whenever I feel bad that Zelda always chooses books over me.
