I had no reason for being scared. I knew that. All I could think was that my parents' love was so perfect that I was scared I would never have that. Their love was so very rare, and then, of course, I found out later that my father wasn’t who he said he was, and my entire world was shattered, even if I didn’t admit that it was. The thing about it was that I was like this long before my world fell apart.
