Kendra's POV The party had gone on longer than I expected. The room buzzed with chatter, the clink of cutlery, bursts of laughter too loud to ignore. My glass had been refilled twice already, and everywhere I turned, someone was telling me how I looked just like my mother or how proud Marco must be to have me back. Scott, on the other hand, hadn’t looked like he was enjoying a single minute of it. He stood like a sentry at the far end of the room, his arms folded and jaw tense.
