Alpha Annie’s POV
Silence fills the kitchen as Kade and I stare at the protector’s mark that sits boldly on Ros’ skin.
Her husband, Ralph, steps forward, a look of confusion on his face.
“Ros… what are you taking about?”
She drops her head and shakes it gently from side to side before she looks into his eyes.
“I’m sorry Ralph… I’m sorry that I didn’t tell you, but I thought I had left that part of my life behind. I never thought any of this would happen.” she says quietly.
I turn to look at Kade who is still staring at her, dumfounded.
“You are Gabriel and Grace’s protector too?” he asks in disbelief.
She shakes her head gently, her eyes flicking over to settle on Grace.
“No… I was their mother’s protector. Athena and her twin sister Ariel. It was my job to protect them.”
