Dave didn’t think he would be able to sleep so fast. When his back hit the bed, it only took minutes for him to start snoring. He’s too tired from driving. He’s relieved, too.
It’s already good enough that Ella’s parents didn’t chase him away. Yes, they are indeed disappointed and have expressed it with words and emotions, especially the mother. But they know how to let go of their anger and still consider their daughter’s situation.
Sure, they haven’t believed his words but they are willing to assess him. His sleep was slightly restless.
