I checked the time and it was already close to midnight. Nikolai was still not back to my apartment. I wondered where he was. It was the first time since we moved back to Amberose City that Nikolai was late for dinner.
I looked at Teddy sleeping by my side on the bed. I sighed.
He waited for Nikolai to come home as what Nikolai had promised this morning. I stroke his hair and kissed his head while covering him with a blanket.
For all afternoon earlier, Cindy comforted me and had advised me to get the truth from Nikolai first before I jumped into conclusion that he had cheated on me with a very attractive woman. I had agreed to that idea and had waited for Nikolai to come home all night.
He had forgotten our promise to have dinner together. A broken promise.
