Summer
Soft voices pulled me out of my unconsciousness and when I blinked open my eyes I realised I was in our bedroom and my sister and husband seemed to be having an argument. I parted my lips to call out but winced as sudden sharp pain tore through the side of my face. I breathed shakily as I remembered what had happened. My fingers experimentally touched the left side of my jaw and I felt the swelling and the pain caused by the slightest of touch.
“She’s awake!” My sister yelled, her hand pushing Gabriel away as she came to my side.
“You are awake…” Gabriel said, coming to my other side.
“Are you okay?” My sister asked at the same time my husband said, “Tell me, how are you feeling?”
