Summer I came to stand in front of the man who had come to take me. The man was stocky and had black eyes that glinted like steel. “I am ready to go with you.” “You can’t possibly mean to—” I turned to my sister, carefully keeping the emotions whirling inside me in wraps. “Erica.” Her lips clamped shut and her shoulders dropped. “He will not forgive you for this.” She whispered, her eyes filling with pain and uncertainty. My heart ached for I knew she was right, but if I didn't go now then more people will get hurt and I won't be able to forgive myself if something happened to Gabriel. “I’ll be back.” “I doubt that.” The man said from behind me, we both stilled and I turned to face him. “Don’t make false promises to your sister. If I were you I’d say my goodbyes.” I won't say goodbye
