His clammy hands pawed her body while the ants bit at her back. Jade struggled against the paralysis that kept her from slicing his throat. A slight sound came from the jungle and he lifted his head, and Megan pointed her needle gun at him. Smiling, he left Jade and started for her. Jade still could not move, but she could scream, had been screaming; now she found the words. “No, damn it, not her too.” The paralysis melted as the Restaals streamed into the stone room and the jungle dissolved.
