Chapter 51: Two Rendezvous

In the days that followed, the news about Sarah and Susan's arrest continued to trend on Social Media. The day after their arrest, Mike set them up with an ace lawyer, though, and he promised them that everything would turn out fine in the end.

Susan and Sarah were both interrogated by the police and interviewed by psychiatrists. They went before a judge on the following Monday, and the trial took up very little time. They received their verdict on Tuesday.

Susan was acquitted and released, but Sarah was found not guilty by reason of insanity, and she was sent to a psychiatric hospital.

Once Susan was released, she called Mike to scold him. She said, "You promised that everything would turn out fine, buy Sarah got sent to the Loonie Bin! What the f**k, Mike?!?!"

Mike took a deep breath and told Susan to try to settle down. "This is good," he argued. "You have to admit that Sarah has her issues. The doctors will help her with them, and once she is feeling better, she will be allowed to leave."

"How long do you think that will take?" Susan asked.

"I'm sure she won't be there much more than a month," Mike replied.

"Well, that's not so bad," Susan admitted.

When Susan arrived home that day, she was unhappy, but not nearly as upset as she would have been if she hadn't spoken to Mike. Nevertheless, she was still in pain, and she hoped that her husband would comfort her. When he saw her, though, he said, "I didn't think you'd return. You shouldn't have. You're not welcome here anymore. Please leave."

Susan began to cry as she approached Robin, and in a low voice, she said, "I'm sorry, honey."

"If you're sorry, you wouldn't have put our family through this," Robin shouted. "You never think!"

"I'm sorry," Susan sobbed. "I'm really sorry. This is all my fault... It could be worse, though. Mike says that Sarah will be home in a month..."

When Robin saw how upset his wife was, he couldn't help but forgive her. He stood up and embraced her. "Don't be too hard on yourself," he said. "This is as much Sarah's fault as it is yours."

Susan buried her head in Robin's chest. "Sarah shouldn't have hit those people," she cried. "But if you forgive her, I'm sure she'll never do it again. Anyway, you have to admit that Sarah needs help. I just hope that she gets it while she's away because I am at my wits end with that girl.

"I wish I knew why she attacks people, though. I should have asked her when I had the chance, but everything happened so fast, and now it's too late."

Robin ran his hands through his wife's hair and rubbed her back. "I'm sure she had her reasons," he said, "And we can ask about them when we visit her. It's not the end of the world. At least she didn't go to jail, and she'll be home as soon as she's feeling better."

"If it weren't for Joanna, none of this would be happening," Susan said coldly. "I hate her!"

"I suppose I am at least partially to blame for that," Robin admitted. "I wasn't the Father to her that she needed..."

Susan: "Don't worry. I will take care of her for you."

Robin: You think Julie and Austen are in cahoots with her, don't you?"

Susan: "I'm not sure. It would make sense, though. Either way, I know she's up to something, and I intend to put a stop to whatever schemes she's cooking up!"

After their conversation with Robin, Susan changed clothes and went to the hotel. As before, Kevin Davis, her lover and the would-be assassin was waiting for her outside the building. They embraced in the parking lot, and she said, "You weren't seen, were you?" He said that he hadn't been, and they went inside together. They went up to their room, quickly took off their clothes, and made love.

Once they were spent, they snuggled, and then they had a shower together. As Kevin was turning on the water, he asked Susan if she had any new instructions for him, and she said, "There are. Don't waste time on the other people in Joanna's life. We need to deal with her directly, and as soon as possible."

Kevin smirked. "What's the rush?" he asked.

Susan: "She knows that I'm behind the hit on Olivia. If she finds out about our relationship, we are f****d!"

Kevin was not scared at all. He said, "Then why are you taking such a big risk to see me? You could have just sent me a text. You must have really missed me, but I get it. I know that Robin can't satisfy you."

Susan flinched. "I thought we had an agreement," she said. "We don't speak of him, not when we are together like this…" Indeed, she had grown tired of Robin. And he had never been the lover that she'd hoped he would be. His health was poor, though, and she still loved him.

"Mum's the word." Kevin shrugged, and he said, "I was just teasing."

Susan built up a shampoo lather in her hands, and as she spoke, she began you wash Kevin's body. She started at his shoulders and began to make her way down his body. "Joanna's about to threaten Mike," she said. "I need her taken care of before she does. She is so devious. Not only does she want to get back at me, but she wants to bring the whole family to its knees."

Kevin laughed and said, "She's just a little girl. You shouldn't be so worried."

Susan had just reached his groin, and when she heard him say this, she tightened her hand around his c**k. Kevin froze, and he swallowed hard. "You aren't taking this seriously!" she said, and as she applied a little bit more pressure to his manhood, it grew hard in her hand. Susan smiled, and she began to slowly stroke his swollen member. "Do not underestimate her," she said. "Nod if you understand what I'm telling you."

There was a look in Kevin's eyes that was two parts fear and one part ecstasy. He nodded his head. "I understand," he whispered.

"Good." Susan let Kevin go as she stepped out of the tub. "Finish that off if you need to," she said, and she began to chuckle maniacally. "I'm sure you know how."

Kevin's face turned red, and he clenched and unclenched his fists in anger. If he got out of the tub right away, he didn't know what he would do to Susan - That teasing cunt! So he waited until he was sure that she had left the hotel room before turning off the water. Then, as he stepped out of the tub, he shouted, "You can come out now."

There had been a beautiful young woman in the closet. She quickly came out of hiding, and when she stepped into the bathroom, she seemed not even to notice that Kevin was naked. She looked him in the eyes and said, "Mr. Davis?"

Kevin was the president of Davis Corp., and his family was one of the wealthiest in the city. The woman was one of Davis Corp.'s most prominent lawyers. Not only was she at the top of her game, but she was loyal. As long as she was paid for her work, she would never give Kevin bad advice or betray him. He trusted her with his life. Her name was Nancy Stilton, and she had been working for Kevin for five years.

Nancy walked to the window, removed the tiny camera she'd planted, and plugged it into her phone. After a few minutes, she turned to Kevin and said, "It's done."

Kevin nodded and said, "Thank you." He was a smart businessman, but he was also a very suspicious person. Even though he had cooperated with Susan many times, he didn't fully trust her. The video was his insurance policy – one that he hoped he'd never have to use.

Kevin's phone rang suddenly. He checked his caller ID, and when he saw that it was Durban Alto, he turned to Nancy and said, "Give me some privacy."

Nancy nodded, went into the bathroom, closed the door, and ran the water in the sink. Good girl – thought Kevin - This one is a keeper!

When Kevin answered the phone, he could tell from Durban's heavy breathing that there was a problem. "What's wrong?" he asked.

"The goods were found by the police!" Durban replied anxiously.

Kevin couldn't believe what he was hearing. "How did you let this happen?" he roared. The goods were worth one hundred million dollars.

"Security is getting tighter," Durbin explained. "You know that. Plus, half of our crew is new."

Kevin: "I am not interested in excuses. Just make sure that this doesn't come back to bite me. I don't need to remind you of what happens to you if anything happens to me!"
