Melina’s POV
I turned to see Cara stepping towards me with concern in her eyes. She softened her tone and asked, “Where have you been? More specifically, who have you been around?”
“I went to get something for breakfast. I then stopped to purchase art supplies for me to use while I’m here. I was going to replace the money. I’m sorry, Cara. I was trying to grab a few things,” I replied.
“Did he touch you?” Cara asked. The intensity in her eyes told me that something was definitely going on.
I had to think for a moment before saying, “Yes, he wiped a tear off my cheek.”
