Maksim’s POV
I don’t know why Isabel stood up, but I knew that she had something to say. So I waited. I don’t know if something happened before we got here. I needed to know if she was hurt or just needed to get something off her chest. I felt terrible for leaving her this morning to go to the Council. I know now that Clinton had set this whole thing up.
“Are you okay? Did Allen hurt you, love?” I asked.
“I’m not hurt, you got here in time, and the team dealt with them. I’m fine. The doctor's appointment today with Dr. Gurin was mine, not Melina’s. I didn’t want to worry you, especially since you had to leave,” Isabel replied.
“Is it because of how tired you’ve been feeling?” I asked.
She nodded at me and said, “Yes, it was because of how tired I’ve been. I knew it was
