Melina’s POV
I knew something bad had happened. I heard my mother sobbing; it woke me up. None of us had been sleeping well, but hearing my mother crying let me know something bad had happened. With how hard my mother was crying, I figured it had to be Dad, Maksim, Alexei, or my mate. Seeing them all unharmed was a relief.
I had felt eyes on me as I crossed the living room to go meet them outside, but when I stopped to look, no one was there. I know they had increased security while the team was gone. I’m also sure that whoever was there is someone else I’m not supposed to know about. I hate being kept in the dark. I know why it has to be, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it.
