Melina’s POV
Shocked didn’t even begin to cover the fact that my baby was still alive. I thought back to what Malik had said to me. He said pregnant. He didn’t say I'd lost my baby. He was trying to tell me, but I was so upset, it didn’t sink in. I was stunned and looked at Dr. Gurin, who was smiling back at me, pleased that he'd suggested the ultrasound. The odds of this being a vampire had increased.
“My baby was saved. He’s still alive,” I murmured.
“I suspected as much, Melina. I spoke to your father last night. What he described was more like fluid loss from hitting the branches. There was no bleeding, and he didn’t mention abdominal cramps. I didn’t say anything to him about my suspicions because I wasn’t sure and wanted to confirm. Storm has helped heal you before.
