I didn't come out of my room for the rest of the night. Aunt Pam, Sheryl, and even Lucia had stopped by. I was happy Val was here. She had told them all that I had fallen asleep.
I stayed up for a while, and wasn't sure why. Not until I realized that I was constantly looking at my door, waiting for someone to knock. I wasn't scared or annoyed about it. I was... hopeful. Hopeful that it was Ryland.
I must have fallen asleep waiting for Ryland to come, because the next thing I knew, I was waking up to a dark room. Val was sleeping next to me, and the comforter was pulled up to our shoulders. I can see that it's dark from looking out my window. The moon s high in the night sky.
