Liam parked the truck in front of his parents’ home. He turned the engine off and looked over at Kieran. Kieran sat there with a blank look of terror on his face. “Hey, hey, it’s gonna be okay,” Liam said, grabbing Kieran’s hand hard. “They’re gonna be nice to you. They’re nice people.” Kieran nodded and swallowed. “I know…they’re your family.” He blew out a hard breath and unfastened his seat belt. “But are you sure Rye forgave me for punching him?” Liam laughed. “Rye’s been punched a lot. Don’t worry about it.” He was trying to be cool, but his pulse was racing and he could feel sweat pooling under his arms. “Well, let’s go.” Kieran agreed and stepped out.
