Elena screamed hysterically as the nurses took her babies away on Victoria’s orders.
"You have no hearts! You're monsters! Give me back my children!" she shrieked, sobbing uncontrollably.
Emily cried with her, her own body aching with sympathy for Elena's condition. It had only been a few days since the second procedure on her cesarean wound, but Victoria seemed utterly indifferent. The woman was obsessed with confirming the true lineage of the infants.
"Be calm, Miss! Your wound is still bleeding!" Emily said, holding Elena, who was struggling to get out of bed and chase after them.
"Why are they so cruel, Emily? Why?" Elena lamented into Emily's shoulder, her tears flowing freely.
