I watch as Haven and Cain load the body of the creature in the back of the truck. They cover it up. Kenneth wraps an arm around me, holding me close. The whole pack gathers around us curious as to what is happening, but I am glad they are keeping their distance. I will explain everything to them later.
“I am glad everything worked out. And we are all safe ,” he says.
“Yeah, me too,” Mina says coming to my other side, wrapping her arm around my waist. They hold me close, making me feel like we are a real family.
“We have to get going,” Haven says as he comes to stop next to me. Mina and Kenneth move away giving us some privacy. “I’ll be back soon.”
“Where are you taking him?” I ask him.
“Where no one will ever find him,” he tells me.
