AURORA'S POV The night training with Lucien had barely drained my energy. If anything, it left me restless, craving more. But instead of being given real challenges, I was shoved into menial chores—mopping floors, scrubbing pots, and feeding creatures that should have been locked away rather than pampered like pets. I didn’t want chores. I wanted answers. The Velmoria kingdom haunted me, a dread gnawing deeper with every second. Something terrible was happening out there. I could feel it. And though I told myself I shouldn’t care—after all, this wasn’t my kingdom—my chest ached at the thought of innocent creatures suffering under Caleb’s reign of terror. No one deserved his cruelty.
