The following morning, Bronte was on the telephone talking to Wystan. Bronte wants to know if he thought it was too soon to have a family dinner. He doesn't know how the triplets and Shemar would get along. Yes, they have fought together, but sitting at the same table over a meal is different, Bronte repeated a few times.
Wystan said they should wait a while longer for a family dinner. He doesn't want anything to happen that would cause trouble in his, Shemar, and Dutton's relationship. Right now, they're at a good point, and he doesn't want any setbacks. Bronte understood and said he hoped that soon they all could be one happy family.
After talking to Wystan, Bronte is in his bedroom, thinking about the triplets and the pack. He can't believe how they have matured. "Maybe that was what they needed to mature. Yep, rejecting Kaimana and not being able to win her back changed them; they realized they can't wrong someone without having some consequences. s**t, I should know. I almost lost my best friend over some bullshit."
Ares was on his way upstairs to ask his father if he wanted to ride with him to netural territory. Bronte thought, Why not? He can use some fresh air. And he wanted to but his new daughter-in-law a present to welcome her to the family.
When they walk downstairs, Bronte hears "Happy Birthday." He chuckled, looking at Garcella holding up a cake with one candle on it. Bronte had forgotten it was hid birthday. Ginerra never did anything special for him.
She notices the way he's looking at one candle. "Father, this is for your future. We're not thinking about the past. Make a wish and blow your candle out, young man."
"Young man, I haven't been called that. Let's just say a long time." Bronte blows the candle while Atlas, Garcella, Ares, and Apollo sing Happy Birthday to him." He looks at Ares, "So we're not going into town."
"Yes, Father, we're going into town. Our mate said that we can't cut the cake until lunch. She's preparing something special for you."
Bronte kisses Garcella's cheek. "Thank yo,u dear. It's nice having a daughter."
Apollo tells him tonight, he, Atlas, and Ares are taking him out for drinks. And that it was their mate's orders.
Atlas is looking out the window at a truck of one of their members. The member thought his mother was coming home a few days ago, but she stayed at her sister's house for a few days. He turns to say something and sees his father sniffing.
Bronte looks at the triplets, "Something smells delicious." He walks out the door with Farcella and the triplets behind him. Bronte stood in the middle of the driveway.
The passenger door opens, and a woman jumps out and runs toward Bronte. He opens his arms, and she runs into his arms.
Atlas looks at his brothers, "Who is she?"
They shook their heads.
"Marigold," Garcella says, and turns her head when Bronte and Marigold kiss.
The triplets remember Ginerra fussing about the woman coming to the house. They told her that Marigold was only trying to be nice. Since they were close to the same age. Ginerra told them to tell the woman not to come back. But they never did. That's not the kind of pack they wanted. The triplets want their members to know their door is always open. They look and nod at Keenan, her son, who happens to be their number one warrior.
Marigold's son steps out of the truck. Now, he knows the reason his mother's wolf became anxious when they entered the gate. But he never thought in a million years that Alpha Brinte was his mother's second chance mate.

After breakfast, Kiamana and Shemar took Nayla, Traylor, Winter, Shane, Aurora, and Nicholas back to their packs. Shemar told Shane that he, Tidel, and Boom would come back in a few days for his new pack.
The first thing Kaimana did when they returned was to call a meeting. She and Shemar want to meet with their parents, Alika, and Alesso. She's telling them about the Banshee reaching out to her in her dreams. Besides her mother, no one has even done that before. Sure, she has had dreams before. But all the dreams were about someone coming after them or connected to someone she's familiar with. She doesn't have a connection to a Banshee.
Shiloh asks her to tell them every detail of what the Banshee revealed to her. "There has to be something you're missing. Maybe it's a small detail."
"Your Mother is right. There has to be a connection somewhere." His father sits down, " All of us together will figure it out."
Kaimana starts from the beginning to the end when the woman is sobbing over the remains of what was left of her loved one that the Jininikis didn't eat. When she's finished, she looks around the room at everyone staring at her. She was about to say something when Emrys appeared in her arms. "Did you miss Mommy?" She kisses his forehead.
Shemar looks at Emrys, then at her. "This is just a theory. "The goat head bastard wanted our son. Maybe it's a warning about Emrys. I don't know why a Banshee or fuckers who eat dead people would want our son since he's alive, and as far as we know, neither of us is related to the Banshee."
"That makes sense." Alika and Alessio say in unison.
Namakaesha looks at Shemar, "Yes, it does. Now we just have to figure out her location and which one is our enemy."
Malea said she heard a Banshee could be a mortal woman who had become a Banshee, was someone with a special role in her community. That's one rumor I heard. The other is that she was transformed into a Banshee as a result of a curse or a tragic accident. Also, she has ties with the other world, something about where souls are believed to go after death.
"Right. Now I remember. Kai, do you remember that was something mentioned in the book that a Banshee believes death is not the end, but a transition one that links generations and realms in ways both sorrowful and profound?" Alika takes Emrys from her. "Come to your uncle. between your mother and father, I never got a chance to hold you much."
Alessio looks at Kaimana and Shemar. "Does that mean that one of you is related to the Banshee?"
Shemar and Kaimana look at him and shrug their shoulders.
Boon has been quiet, "Shemar brought up the red goat head. What if the Jininkis know about Emrys? I'm sure they're all living in the same hellhole. Maybe Kaimana received the Banshee cry because their connections are that they're both mothers?"
Shemar frowns, "The Jininkis are coming after my son. Those mutherfucker better keep their asses in that damn hell hole. Because if they come for Emrys Shemar Iwanlani, they won't need a damn hole when me and Wolfgor rip their asses to threads."
Alika was about to say something to Emrys when Emrys disappeared and appeared in Shemar's arms. "I don't believe this." Alika points at Emrys, looking at him, smiling.
"I'm glad I'm not the only one he does that to. He is a daddy's boy." Kaimana looks at Emrys and then at her mother and father.
Shemar is laughing at Alika. "My little man knew Faffy needed to calm down. Or he wanted to go on a killing spree with me." He looks at Kaimana. "I'm not going to like what you're going to say."
She looks at Emrys, "I might be wrong. Our son may be one of the powerful ones."
