It was so strange sitting down in the dining room at what I assume is the head table. It felt like we were on display, but I tried to focus my attention on Victor. Seeing the way he handled the situation with Timothy and Georgia had me falling even more in love with him. He is a fair and caring man. He is the complete opposite of that ba**ard that wants to destroy him. I just pray that whatever happens nothing bad happens to Victor or my mother.
"Is the food alright, Serina? I can have the kitchen make you something different if you would prefer," Victor asks, bringing me out of my thoughts. I smile before taking a spoonful of the mashed potatoes he piled on my plate and bringing it to my mouth. "The food is delicious. I was just deep in thought."
