Forty-four: Prince Cadoc

3519 Words

Chapter Forty-Four   Prince Cadoc Bexley Adams was the definition of a distraction. Being with her, I could forget that I wasn’t with Penelope. That, if I wanted Penelope to not hate me, I had to let her be on her own until she was ready. We went for coffee dates, and movie premiers, or jet set around Europe  at a moments notice. Bexley had made a fortune starring in The Magic Manor film franchise from the time she was thirteen. I didn’t have to worry about making her feel lesser. Her world and my world were the same. The elite. The upper class. With Penelope, I had always been worried that I might do something to upset her. For Bexley, I could show up with an expensive gift in tow and she would put it to use right then and there. There were no limits to our displays of affection.
