Olivia’s POV
“The patient’s heartbeat is dropping and we are doing our best to save him!” The nurse’s words thundered in my ears.
My legs wobbled and the ground began slipping from beneath my feet. I felt like I was hit by lightning and my entire body burned with electricity. Every part of my body started to ache. It was as if my heart was going to stop and not Gabriel’s. It was pounding in my chest so hard that I was afraid it would jump out of my ribcage. My surroundings started blurring and voices around me started fading into echoes. My body felt numb but my heart was shattered into pieces. A lump started to form in my throat and if there was anything that moved on my body, it was only my tears that slowly rolled down my shaking cheeks.
